Southern Caribbean Cruise Aboard Emerald Princess ~ Part 2 (Aruba, Bonaire & Grenada)

Continuing on from my last post, after two days at sea aboard the beautiful Emerald Princess, we finally arrived at our first of the two ABC Islands we’d visit this cruise:
The morning of April 19, 2013 we disembarked in the beautiful island of Aruba.

Emerald Princess docked in Oranjestad
Downtown Oranjestad
We had honeymooned in Aruba in 1994 and were excited to return to Palm Beach, where we spent our first week as a married couple.  The beach is gorgeous!  Calm, crystal clear water.  Soft white sand.  Lots of activity – great resorts, beach bars, water sport activities…  you won’t be bored here whether for a day like we had, or a week’s vacation at one of the many resorts along the beach.
Palm Beach Aruba
A great place to stop in for drinks or a quick meal
De Palm Bar and Restaurant

Where we honeymooned – now the Occidental Resort

Palm Beach hasn’t changed since I remember it
Still Paradise to me!

Our second “ABC” Island  was on Saturday, April 20 when we docked in the quiet island of Bonaire.

Docked in Kralendijk, Bonaire
Downtown Kralendijk

On tap for this glorious day we took a ship excursion over to Klein Bonaire for some amazing snorkelling

Klein Bonaire or “Little Bonaire”

We were warmly welcomed on Sunday, April 21 our next port… St. George’s Grenada… the Island of Spice!
Again we ventured out on a snorkelling excursion… this time to Moliniere Point and the underwater sculpture park.

And then it was off to Grande Anse Beach

Grande Anse Beach, Grenada
At Grand Anse Beach we found a Spice Market where the staff were knowledgable and friendly!

In my next post I will share the last 3 stops on our amazing 10 day Southern Caribbean cruise.
